On 27 October 2026, our team joined Together We ROC!, a one-day gathering in Parma, Italy, on how to accelerate the Regenerative Organic transition in Europe. The event was presented by the Regenerative Organic Alliance (ROA), the European Regenerative Organic Center (EROC) and ICEA, and brought together brands, farmers, certifiers and researchers from across the continent.
Egedeniz CEO Mehmet Ünsal and Deputy General Manager Faruk Giray represented the company. Egedeniz was one of the few textile companies in the room, and the only one from Türkiye.
Starting in the field
The day opened with a tour of EROC, the Rodale Institute’s European research center, where regenerative plots are trialled side by side — from regenerative tomato beds to cover crops. For a team that has spent the last four seasons in cotton fields in the Aegean, seeing the same principles at work in Italian soil was a reminder that regenerative organic is one global movement with many local answers.
Sharing the Egedeniz journey
In the afternoon, Mehmet Ünsal shared Egedeniz’s journey toward regenerative organic cotton: our partnership with the Regenerative Organic Alliance since 2022, the pilot fields developed with our farmers and research partners in Türkiye, and what we have learned about moving a textile supply chain toward regenerative organic one step at a time.
We came to share, not to present. Years in the field with our farmers, and years alongside careful, long-term brands, have taught us what it really takes: patience, honest data, and partners who stay through the difficult seasons.
What comes next
Breakout sessions focused on three areas where Europe’s transition needs momentum — retail and brand engagement, support through policy, funding and certification, and agronomy and impact on the ground. These are the same questions we are working through in Türkiye as we continue toward Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC) status for our cotton.
